Overview

Summary of dataset and variables

This dataset shows the number of practices offering WGOS services as of 31 March each year since March 2024. The number of practices offering domiciliary services are also shown for the same reference date each year. The data is broken down by the health board where the service was provided.

Data collection or calculation

A list of practices offering each service is provided to the Welsh Government. The dataset is filtered to exclude practices that opened after the reference date. Basic data cleaning is also undertaken where necessary, for example, removing duplicate records. Counts are then produced based on each unique practice premise name and address.

Statistical quality

The date of closure is not included as a data item in the supplied dataset. Therefore, practices that were inactive on the reference date (if any) are assumed to have been excluded from the supplied dataset.
