Overview
- Summary of dataset and variables
Data are presented for the outcomes of all households that received homelessness assistance under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. It includes the number of households, rates per 10,000 households, and success percentages for outcomes under the prevention duty (Section 66), the relief duty (Section 73), and the main housing duty (Section 75).
- Data collection or calculation
The information is based on a statistical return completed by local authorities in Wales.
Rates are calculated by dividing the outcome of interest by the number of households and multiplying the result by 10,000. Household figures are based on Welsh Government's mid-year household estimates, with the estimate that falls within the relevant financial year used in each calculation. For example, rates for 2023–24 were calculated using the mid-2023 household estimates.
This year, 2025-26 rates were calculated using mid-2024 household estimates as these are the most recent estimates available. Therefore, 2025-26 rate data is provisional and will be revised when the mid-2025 household estimates are available.
The percentage of successful outcomes is calculated by dividing the number of successful outcomes by the number of outcomes under the relevant legislation, and multiplying the result by 100.

- Rounding applied
Disclosure control has been applied to the data. All figures less than 3 and percentages based on figures less than 3 have been supressed. Figures for number of outcomes are rounded independently to the nearest 3. Rate and percentage values are rounded to the nearest whole number, and calculated using the exact number of outcomes figures.
As a result of the rounding, there may be a difference between the sum of the constituent items and the total.
